In 2011, the Donkin Reserve Flagpole was extended to a height of 68m from an initial 48m, making it the tallest flagpole in South Africa.  The extension was manufactured completely at Neptune Engineering works in Burman Road, Port Elizabeth for the Main Contractor.  From manufacturing the various cone sections to the final conical tube of 18m in length.  Various conventional techniques were used to ensure straightness of the pole extension. The results speak for themselves.
